I'm wondering if you ever went with the 40M4LLDD? I am now considering this
antenna and noticed your towertalk post. I emailed M2 earlier today and now
wonder if they will respond.

Well, I started out last Spring looking at full size 3L 40 meter beams,
but due to weight (the antenna's, not mine) and age (mine, not the
antenna's) I've decided to go with a couple of changes.
I posted a similar question quite a while back but had little response.
I'm now looking at several choices for the overall system
Going with a 4L shorty 40 (one of two versions of the 40M4LLDD) on the
45G and a log (30 - 10 meters such as the M^2 17-30LP7DX, Tennadyne )at
60 feet on the 25G, just replacing the old TH-5 with a log (Hygain
TH11, or M^2 10-30LP8) for 30 through 10, or just replacing the TH-5
with something like a M^2 KT36XA. Although I'd like to pick up the WARC
bands. It's not a necessity and wire antennas could fill in. Although
they make great antennas I have ruled out the Stepper IR series as I
want to stay away from moving parts and electronics mounted "up there".
The trees have already been trimmed at the West end of the shop for
what ever I put up there. As it's already the first of August I hope to
get this work finished by cold weather.
There are two versions of the 40MLLDD with one designed for 70 MPH winds
and the other for 125 MPH winds. Our wind area is less than 70 MPH, but
we do get quite a few ice storms in the spring. OTOH it's been a few
years since we had a really bad one. Besides, I'd like to go with the
lighter version just because it'd be easier to handle.
However I understand there's quite a wait to receive the M^2 antennas.
I've e-mailed most of the companies. Tennadyne hasn't answered any while
M^2 hasn't had enough time to answer. I couldn't get through to
Tennadyne on the phone. I'd get a strange tone and then "call failed"
which wasn't on this end.
Any socially acceptable opinions or suggestions?
