There's one other way Rohn 25 and 45 differ from each other:
They're different lengths.
Each standard Rohn 25 section is a total of 10' 0" end to end, so when
you build a tower, the tower height is NOT 10' x the number of
sections. You lose 5" for every ten feet. A so-called 50-foot Rohn
25 tower is actually more like 48 feet tall.
Rohn 45, on the other hand, is dimensioned such that you get an honest
10' x N tower height. Each section is 10' 5" long.
This is apropos of nothing relating to the current discussion. I just
thought it was fascinating when I discovered this, since I had always
thought they were the same length. I found it out the first time I
tried to cart a section of Rohn 45 around inside my Suburban....:-)
This could also be of interest if you plan to store your extra Rohn 45
sections upright in your garage.
