Interesting question.
I went looking on yahoo.com for 'turnbuckle specifications' to find out for
myself.
I checked a couple of the sites, Cleveland City Forge and Smith
Fastener/Chicago Hardware.
Both their specification sheets show that anything smaller than 3/4" has a
rated capacity less than 5,000 lbs.
The question is: Do you buy a turnbuckle for the same/greater rated
capacity as your Phillystran or do you buy it for the same/greater rated
capacity of the tension to which you put the Phillystran?
If the former, then it's 3/4" turnbuckle (5,000 lbs).
If the latter, then it's anything bigger than 1/4" (500 lbs).
I, too, await 'the answers'.
