You bet. In the 80's, a well-known ham in Texas that owned a pretty nice
multi-tower station said that 1 dB at his station cost about $1500.
As far as the 3 or 4L SteppIR, even Mike, K7IR, (Mr. SteppIR) said he
didn't know why people bought the 4L when the 3L was almost as good (and for
less money). You'll either be really satisfied with the 3L or you'll always
wish you had bought the 4L. Methinks it's more psychological than real
difference.
