No matter.. your statement didn't reference *original manufacturer's*
instructions:"Many instructions for towers and antennas say not to
use braided or stranded wire, but only use thick, solid,
copper wire."
So I took the term broadly including vast quantities of umpteenthhand
hearsay that one reads on the net. In fact, the value of lists such as
this is we get to thrash all this stuff out. One can only hope that
when folks google it, they read the entire discussion.

Oddly, the mfrs instruction sheet doesn't usually specify "new" for that
grounding conductor, but your point is well taken, particularly with
hardware, from a practical standpoint. I can't speak to what it takes to
win or lose liability suits other than the generic advice that both
parties in a civil dispute who walk into the courtroom lose something.
