It's not advertising lingo ... it's the terrible status of
our educational system that allows a professional writer
to say "10 times lighter" rather "weighs one tenth as much
as" or (properly for a physicist) "has one tenth the mass
of" steel. Not only do even professional writers not know
the concept of relative quantities, even fewer understand
the difference between force and mass.
