Put up the new tower two weekends ago.
Now, I have the guy wire now (3/16 EHS) I bought it for cost of shipping - two
lengths that someone had taken off of another tower
which they replaced with non-conductive rope.
They came with two thimbles installed with big grips on one end of each wire,
seem to be in really good shape.
I will be measuring them to see how I can make one more wire from them, they
are too long for what I need he took them off the top
section of his tower which was 90 feet, so after I do some cutting I will have
plenty of wire.
Now all I need is one more thimble for the end at the tower and three more
thimbles for the guy stakes.
Then I need six ground shackles three to connect to the tower legs and three to
connect to the guy stakes.
I will use big grips to fasten on the thimbles (four more needed) since the two
wires already have big grips installed on one end of
each.
I am also looking for a come along and something to measure the tension with.
Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated.
