My rotator is far enough down in the tower that I can put a muffler
clamp with a piece of angle iron the same width as the clamp around the
mast, hook a come-along between the top of the tower and the muffler
clamp (Clevis to the angle) and just pull it up. I tighten the top
thrust bearing to the mast so it holds it vertically and then clamp it
with cross members between the tower legs and mast. Some have mentioned
using a piece of angle iron between the mast and each tower leg. I use
just two pieces. One runs between two of the tower legs and the other
from the third leg to the first angle forming a slightly skewed "T". I
"U-bolt" the mast to the base of the T. It takes a bit more planning
than using three seperate pieces but works well.
