Liability is something you don't want to trust to Internet advice - no
matter how well-meaning, including mine.
Consult your insurance agent and/or lawyer BEFORE you let any volunteers
do anything risky on your property. You can be wiped out financially
if something bad happens. Coverage of $1M via an umbrella policy is not
too much, I would say. It's not that expensive, but be sure you are
really covered for the activities you are planning.
Whatever insurance you have, you are responsible that everybody is safe
-- they don't climb if they don't know what they're doing and don't have
the right equipment.
Liability (and avoiding sad accidents) is a pretty good reason to hire
professionals.
