My HDX-589 arrived in an enclosed trailer and the only way to get it out
was with an auto wrecker.

Roger,
I have the same tower and love it. My first suggestion is to replace
the
winch with a Fulton 2500 (about $169). Much better gear ration and
makes
the tilting a lot easier. When I unloaded my tower it was on a flatbed
truck and would be willing to bet that yours will also. I used a front
loader and a nylon car towing strap ($25) from the local auto parts
place.
Used it as a sling and had a neighbor and Pete (N4ZR) to help. From the
truck to being bolted on the base took about 25 minutes.
Welcome back to HF, enjoy,
Pat, K8PC
