Jim: Just open the larger thimble a bit and put the smaller thimble
inside. Then use big grips on both Phyllistran and the EHS as usual.
Works fine. If you don't want to do that a single shackle does the
job. I have done both and when I need to get the two together out in
the field I use a 1/2 inch shackle. When I can put them together in the
shop where a vise is handy I do the thimble inside thimble trick. Be
sure to use galvanized shackles or you will regret it later. 73 bob de
