Hi Steve,
I was faced with a similar issue roughly 22 or so years ago. We found 5
acres in the country but it had a double set of transmission lines crossing
the SE corner of the property. I drove out to the acreage three or four
times under different weather conditions and brought along a portable SW
receiver. I listened on various bands and never heard any interference.
There were times I could hear the transmission lines frying because of the
dampness but still nothing I could hear.
Well 17 years ago we built or home in the country and as of yet have ever
had an issue with the transmission lines. Fence chargers have been more of
an issue but currently there are only a few people with cattle in the area.
So that's my experiance be interesting to see what other reports you get. I
would go check it out with a moblile rig and see what you hear.
