Well, for my money, the stupidest part about the whole thing was that this
guy had second, and third thoughts on the way up. He stopped for coffee and
a sandwich at 10ft and again for a smoke at 15ft. But...how can you even
think about working or doing anything productive when you can't let go of
the tower? Take a look...he NEVER lets go of the tower and works with one
shakey hand. -Mike

Subject: Re: [TowerTalk] Tower Climber
The worst part about this is that he seems to be pretty worried that
he's going to fall off. It's like someone dared him to do this.
It's clearly stupid to climb a tower without a safety harness, but to
climb with something that does nothing for you but get in your way is
WORSE than NOTHING.
He spends half the time ascending worrying about his nylon strap...
he's hugging the tower for dear life.
It's one thing to watch someone risking themselves because they're the
sort who thinks they're invincible and likes to fearlessly free-climb
towers and tightrope walk out the boom or something... scary, sure,
but those guys are aware of or at least purposefully ignoring the
danger.
To see someone who feels uncomfortable, is totally unsafe, and is
doing it anyway is really awful.
