Are there any tricks of the trade when it comes to making sturdy rebar
cages? I have used tie wires, along with the tie wire tool, but mine tend to
flop around when complete. Could I be tying the wires incorrectly? I realize
it doesn't make a whole lot of difference once the concrete is poured, but
I'd like to understand how to give these a more professional look and feel.

On a somewhat related issue, an area Lowe's store is now stocking a ground
clamp designed specifically for use on rebar. First time I have seen these
at a big box store. They look similar to the type that clamps on a water
pipe, but the clamp is designed to grab a smaller diameter "pipe" (the
rebar) and accommodate a slightly larger ground wire. Useful for anyone
planning a UFER ground, although I suspect a exothermic weld connection
would be better.
