Boy! Bringing back some youthful memories. At that time I could only dream
of having a tower.
My brother-in-law had a 53 Ford flattie with three deuces and twin smittys.
It had a "Road Aces" plaque in the rear window. He went out of town and let
me keep it for him. I picked up my buddy Friday night and we went out
crusing. Next thing I know we were in a drag race with another guy. I
popped the clutch and busted the right rear axle. Spent the whole weekend
finding another axle and replacing it.

Big or little V-8, they all sound right with the proper mufflers. My 53 Ford
Vicky with 286 inches of very warm flathead exits thru a pair of Smithys and
1 1/2" pipes. Pure nostalgia sound.
OTOH my 68 Impala SS-396 convertible has a pair of NOS Thrush glasspacks
and 2 1/2" pipes. Especially loud and intimidating when I drop down a gear
on the Interstates for a little bit of show and tell. It really rattles the
SUV crowd who "think" that they are fast!
