Hi Everyone,
You have been so helpful with this prop pitch. I have determined that
the motor doesn't turn, though the brake engages. I suspect the problem
that everyone has posted about previously where the seal leaks the oil
down into the motor and that wipes out the brushes and damages the
commutator, but I can't get the brake off the top and so can't get down
to the commutator and brushes.
There are three nuts on top of the brake. I got one off, but the other
two just turn and turn, because the bolt that they are on is turning.
There are three nuts inside (which you can turn using openings on the
side of the brake, and I've loosened those, but that doesn't do the
trick. There is what appears to be a Woodruff key or some other key in
the top that I haven't been able to budge. I think this may be the key,
but not being much of a mechanic, I'm not sure how to remove the key.
I put some photos on my web site so you could maybe follow the above
description a bit better. They are at:

Sorry I didn't get a better one of the key in the top. You can see the
slot in Motor1.jpg if you look closely, and I can take a better photo if
that will help.
Thanks & 73,
Rob, KL7NA
