Being on a small residential lot with no room or very tall supports for a
1/2 wave dipole or inverted vee, I bought for 160, one of those "shortened
dipoles" which has come up VERY short on results. One possibility that I
considered is that there might be a commercially made dipole ( trapped I
would suppose ) other than the 82ft model, that can offer something on 160?
I have on the crankup tower, 3 ele SteppIR, and some vhf/uhf antennas. Off
the side of the tower already are a 75 meter inverted vee and a Carolina
Windom. It is reasonable to assume that the loss of these wire antennas from
the tower would not be a great loss at this point as I have verticals for 40
and 75 that out perform them here on the (salt) water. Suggestions? -Mike
