I've got a D40 mounted about 10' above a Cushcraft 14-30 MHz log and don't have any noticeable interaction. The log was up for a few months before the D40 went up; the SWR curves for the log didn't change when I mounted the D40. My D40 is mounted in line with the log's elements (as opposed to parallel to the boom).
