If you need to keep the Cushcraft dipole that close to your beam you will find good results if you run it at a right angle to the beam,. That will work great. I did that for a few years with great results until I put a taller mast up so I could run with the dipole about 7 feet above the beam. It can work about 5 feet but 7 feet is recommended.
