Yes, point well taken, Jim. My friend was on the early waiting list for the
MonsterIR, so he appears to have been a victim of the new product learning
curve. For his sake, I hope the fix is just that and not a band-aid. BTW,
my point was not to slam the antenna, but just to point out that there are
moving parts up there high in the air that can fail (just like a rotator).
If I
ever get around to putting up a rotary antenna at this QTH, it will probably
be a 3 element SteppIR and I'd put up the Monster if I had the room
(my lot is too small).
