 Ok I have to interject.  The issue is not the choice of product for
 securing the wire, it is the method.
 
 Cable ties are fine, don't cinch them down to the point that they deform
 the jacket.
 
 Tape is fine, same rules.
 
 Staples...while not generally approved for Ethernet wiring, are not
 actually the real problem.  Use of Arrow T25 or T37 type rounded crown
 staples with the PROPER tension generally don't hurt the product.  The
 Arrow T59 is an insulated staple that won't over compress the jacket if
 the wire is the correct size for the staple.
 
 In general, it is over tightening the securing device that is the problem,
 not the product itself.
