This covers the disassembly of the output gear case on the old style PST-61.
I have not gotten to the reassembly or the protection of the top seal yet.

Look at the top of the rotator where the shaft comes out. Is there a recess
where water will collect against the top seal? If so I'd just use some
rubber or plastic afixed to the output shaft that will shield the top of the
rotator so water can't get in there.

In mine the motor is well ventilated so it's unlikely water would collect in
there. I also had to mount the AC motor horizontally to get the rotator to
fit inside the ROHN 45G.

If the motor is vented I'd not think this would be necessary. In any case
I'd not drill any holes or do any modifications without first running them
by Jay.

Over all I don't think there is much of a problem with the exception of the
top seal on the "old" rotators. I've not heard of any on the newer ones. I
am writting up what I have done to aid others in working on the rotators.
