I think the only bolt needed is at the end of the fold-over boom.
There seems to be two designs that Rohn used for the fold-over boom. The
first used an assembly that was constructed using trusses similar to the
tower section design. They changed to a square tube/circular tube design The
point where the winch cable attaches, is at the end of the square tube which
is about half way to the end of the boom. This puts a lot more tension on
the winch cable.
Does anyone know the reason the design change? Was it a manufacturing cost
issue or where there failures in the truss assembly design?
