DO NOT Solder (or braze or anything like that) any ground connections. NEC only allows mechanical or exothermic connections. (I wonder why?) As pointed out, CadWelds are NOT expensive and you get the proper connection as well as maintenance free. Do it the right way. #4 bare solid would be minimum size wire for ground radials.
