Just month or so ago, group of well organised group of gipsies (copper
thiefs by "profession") some 15 miles south of my QTH pulled 1000' of HV
cable under full load (10 kV), using tractor and chain. Fortunatelly nobody
was killed during the adventure... So, I'm affraid 220V won't discourage any
"brave soul".

Subject: Re: [TowerTalk] Pinning Coax
What we need is a method of running 220V through
the coax when not in use. That would discourage
any entrepreneurs looking to "acquire" some scrap
copper for their metal recycling business. MFJ,
are ya listenin'?
And so much quieter than an AK-47.
Here in Paradise on the Mahoning, two local citizens
tried to steal some copper from two separate industrial
facilities this week.
They achieved room temperature...quickly.
