Gary,
You are probably already aware of this but I will offer it anyway just in
case. There is a rule of thumb about the minimum distance between ground
rods. It has to do with the fact that spacing them closer than the minimum
causes their fields to overlap in a way that decreases their effectiveness
in getting rid of electrons during a lightning strike.
The general rule of thumb is that any two ground rods should be no
closer than the sum of their lengths. So two 8 foot ground rods should be
16 feet apart.
If you have already figured this in, then just ignore my comments.
