Improved KLM 6L20 dimensions. Better gain,
F/B and especially VSWR bandwidth.
I have not yet found the YO model information
but here are the actual dimensions that I used
on my two 6L20M KLMs, but I will continue
working on it. Probably on one of the 18 computers
that are here but not set up.
I was very pleased with the improvement and
the measured SWR tracked the predicted SWR
perfectly.
I'll try to dig out the models I used, but in the mean
time these dimensions can be worked backwards for
a model or they can be used with confidence to assemble
an antenna that they will work very well.
spacing inches
R-DE1 81-7/16
DE1-DE2 84-3/16
DE2-D1 90-5/8
D1-D2 224-7/8
D20D3 208-3/16
this will leave 3 inches of boom at each end.
1/2" tip lengths inches
R 81-3/16
DE1 56-3/4
DE2 36-5/16
D1 55-5/8
D2 55-1/4
D3 48-3/16
Exposed 3/4 inch tubing are all 69-5/8 inches.
Exposed 1 inch tubing are all nominal 72 inches.
I mounted the boom in the exact center to equalize the
torque load and then used steel weights to balance the boom.
