Hello,
I have a lightweight steel 40' crank-up tower that I'm contemplating putting up
but am not sure of it's requirements. By lightweight I mean it's light enough
for one person to pick up from the center. Probably less than 100 pounds.
The OM I bought it from had it mounted along side of his house via brackets that
attached to the facia boards and he had it mounted to a heavy wood base. On top
was a Cushcraft A4S tri-bander and a Ham IV.
What would I need to do to make this thing safely mounted? It is hinged
at the base so it can be folded over if work needs to be done. ( good for me
as I hate heights ) I would like to mount it in the open but don't know what
I need for a foundation and whether or not it needs to be guyed.
All thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
