the waxoyl is an underbody protection used for vehicles but an oily rather than
varnish type substance .
it is similar to the shelac ? fluid used on transformers but has paraffin or
similar mixed with it to keep it more pliable .
if you can find something called NATO FLUID this is the stuff to use , it is
used by navy and military etc to protect steel and one coat usually lasts a
year or longer, it is much like diesel for viscosity at first but dries out to
form a thin sticky protective coating .
another option is to use ignition sealer from auto suppliers but this would be
more expensive way of doing it due to using aerosol cans which arent cheap and
dont hold so much fluid .
to protect the nuts and bolts and feedpoint fittings try to get some BATTERY
TERMINAL protector which is used to spray onto 12v battery terminals to stop
them corroding, i use this on my gamma matches and any bolts etc , it doesnt
really come off in a long time .
terminal protector comes in spray cans and is much like a spray on grease and
is much same as silicone grease in a spray can , once sprayed onto parts the
"foam" will settle and form a uniform layer over the parts coated .
