Follow the manufacturers design specifications.  There is no way to cheat 
"reality" and physics!
No PE in his right mind and honorable of his professional license will 
"stretch" the [manufacturers 
data] or second-guess it when doing the loading calculations for a specified 
structure , 
installation, etc. ... period!
All the rhetoric, opinions, guessing, off-the-cuff and shoot-from-the-hip 
opinions, arguments, 
dealers 'statements',  dealer emails, etc., on the TT reflector are just THAT 
[rhetoric, aka, BS], 
and not data that is certifiable or verifiable, (useable in litigation), or one 
that a competent PE 
would give credence too ... period!!!
Think about your personal and $$ liability in case things fail if you choose a 
"short cut" for the 
sake of saving a few bucks over doing the job right the first time!
