IIRC, the main diffs between the '259 and '269 are the A/D converters (8-bit
vs 12-bit) and the addition of 70cm on the '269. I also found this
reference on MFJ's product info page for the '269...
"You can measure SWR and loss of coax with any characteristic impedance from
10 to over 600 Ohms, including 50, 51, 52, 53, 73, 75, 93, 95, 300, 450 Ohms
-- an MFJ-269 exclusive!"
I have a '269 and it works fine for my purposes. Is it worth the extra
$100? Features are pretty limted on 70cm, but I've tuned some antennas with
it.
Here's an idea...send an e-mail to Tom, W8JI. He helped design both units
and is probably the best person to answer this question. His website
(w8ji.com) also includes calibration instructions for the '259/269.

Subject: [TowerTalk] MFJ-259B vs. MFJ-269
Hi all,
I have been going through the net without getting a really clear answer
what is the difference between MFJ-259B and MFJ-269. The 269 has UHF and
higher price tag but are those the only differences? Is there any
difference in accuracy and overall performance that is worth the extra
80 bucks? I don't need the UHF part of 269.
