Taking me back -- in college we had a 22 MHz interferometer with an
8-element Telrex on one end and a 3-element Gotham 1500 feet away. That
Gotham was the flimsiest thing I ever saw -- I think the boom was no larger
than 1 1/2 inches.
The pattern was just a little (ahem) skewed in gain across the aperture,
but the important thing was, we worked Jupiter!
(Well, not really, but we heard it)
