But, those handbook designs have design constraints over the 
ENTIRE HAM BAND:
F/R > 20dB
SWR < 2:1

Steppir, since it changes its lengths as a function of frequency, 
can use a high performance, but narrow bandwidth, set of 
parameters. You won't find a design like that in an antenna 
handbook.

I don't own one. I'm just intrigued by the concept.
