"The Balkans" aren't in the news every day in the U.S. any more, so it's
easy to overlook the fact, as I have heard recently from diplomats and
foreign affairs specialists, that there are still powerful emotions, strong
divisions, unresolved problems, and challenges in the Balkans. I think
Goran's comments demonstrate this.

I agree completely with Tom's response below. Let's help to maintain our
Ham Radio fraternity
and help each other. That's what our great hobby is all about.

It isn't unusual for USA to be thought of in an unfavorable
way. Many (but not most) living here tend to think our way
is the only correct way, and our leaders can do no wrong. I
understand how that would make many people in other nations
feel about us as a group.
The fact is we are all amateur radio operators and should
realize we are much more of a fraternity of good people than
the politics and money that drives what our elected
officials decide to do. Some of us may not be educated
enough to understand how the world really works, and may
tend to blame common people for bad decisions made by a few.
This is an antenna forum and is designed to help people.
Everyone's political feelings belong someplace else, and we
need to remember we are ham operators with a common radio
interest first.
