The Telrex VHF beams were VERY well built and lasted many, many years,
unlike their HF Monobanders and Tri-Banders. I had a 6el 6 meter Telrex
on a 24ft boom that was up for over 25 years and another 11 element
"Spiralray" on a 36ft boom that was up at a different location for 15 years
and never had a bit of problems with either one. Of course, their baluns
consisted of a loop of RG-8 coax <G>!

After MFJ took over Hy-Gain, I purchased a 4 element 6 meter beam and
mounted it at 110ft and the first Iowa winter that it was up, I lost three
1/2 elements! Looked like vibration stress on them too. Not sure what they
changed from the original 4 element Hy-Gain 6 meter beam but something is
drastically different today. Replaced it with a 5 element M2 and no more
problems.

Had a friend who had a Telrex TB6EM Tri-bander that constantly lost the
reflector. He kept fixing it until eventually, he junked it all and bought
a Force-12 C4.

As yes..... The good old days ;)
