The EWE is ground dependent; if you have good conductive ground, it'll work well. The K9AY loop as well as a pennant/flag/delta loop is not ground dependent. My EWE's worked well but too close to the shunt fed tower when that went up. Now I have a rotatable delta loop (best shape to rotate and keep up with ice accumulation in winter) as well as a couple of beverages. Having more than one receiving antenna for the low bands is best; what works one night will not the next but the other will. Gd luck, Phil KB9CRY

Dont have room for a Beverage. Can anyone give educated opinion on which is
better the K9AY loop or the EWE receiving antenna. I want to use one antenna
for 80 and 160 so it will have to be a compromise. Thanks Van W4GIW
