Keith this may sound crazy but in some of the mast mounted preamps for V-Uhf
I've used over the years I found they were set up to allow water to drain
out the bottom of the box. It seems if the box is too sealed condensation
will still cause water to accumulate it the box and it has to have some way
to get out. By having some kind of vent the moisture in the air can vent
back to the outside.
