extra height is better generally. the expense, proper installation, danger
and variables[neighbors,permits,windy area] are to be considered.
i've been fortunate in that my previous qth [n. il] and this one[nw tn.]
are good locations. i've never had more than 50' in height. that's with a
modest TA -33 tribander. i have wire arrays up on 40 & 80 because i now have
3+
acres. i am currently 1 away from all wrkd dxcc. i need N. Korea. so you can
get to the dxcc top without monster antennas. i'll never be a big gun contest
station but i'm happy with what i have. that is the MAIN consideration. what
will you be satisfied with. you'll know when you reach that point.
