Reber built a large array (192 dipoles) at just above 2 MHz in
Tasmania. He also made many trips back to the US and Canada trying to get a complementary array In the Michigan area where he could find the lowest electron density levels during sunspot minimums. All of this to do mapping of the Milky Way.
