Thank you to all who replied to my cry for help.
I have now lowered the beam down to ground level and checked the
connections on the rotator, as well I have had a cursory look inside the
control box. All seem fine.
I have now, however, decided that it is perhaps time to retire the old
unit, it also has considerable slop and is prone to temporary freeze up
in the winter.
I will replace it with an AlphaSpid unit which I have just now ordered.
No time to fool around with winter fast approaching and Peter 1 Island
on the horizon.
