For years, I've been using a heavy low-stretch rope as the main tram line for
tramming antennas up and down the 80 foot tower. It's worked well, but it's a
borrowed rope, and it may not be available for an upcoming project. I'd like to
acquire the best possible tram line for this and other future projects. The
antenna will weigh about 170 lbs, and I'm thinking that the tram line should be
a piece of wire rope. The max length will need to be about 130-140 feet. I'd
plan to put a fixed loop on the tower end, and I want to secure the lower end
at any point on the rope [depends on the antenna and how high it needs to be
trammed on the tower]. I'd like to be able to manage and store this line
easily, too.
What materials and termination methods do you recommend?
