Thanks for sharing, David - my UST TX-455 is a couple of feet under the 55'
maximum for that reason. When I first put it up, I cranked it to the top -
and it didn't "feel right". I lowered it a couple of feet intuitively,
thinking it might get stuck. Your experience confirms my sixth sense, and
I thank you for sharing it! You're really going to enjoy the SteppIR - I
have the 4 element version, and it's a super setup! Great antenna.... Now, I need to go out there and be sure the UP/DOWN directions are clearly labeled on the winch. Let us all know if you choose to replace the Fulton winch with a different one, - I may just do the same thing. 73, Joe WDØM At 08:00 AM 7/7/2004, David Greer wrote: In November 2003, my new US Tower TX-455 became stuck in the fully extended position and I could not crank it down. The solution? Not to crank the tower up all the way. _______________________________________________ See: http://www.mscomputer.com for "Self Supporting Towers", "Wireless Weather Stations", and lot's more.
