Aluminium wire.  I think that some of the power wire coming into the house uses 
Al.  
It is in a thick gauge.  Look at it.  The common is not insulated and tends to 
be the 
carrier for the wire.

Just a thought.

Hi
Wonder if anyone might know where i can buy a few meters of Aluminum
Wire around 2-3mm in diameter. Needs to be fairly firm and straight as
its to replace linear-loading wires on a hygain 2el 40mtr beam i have.
