Guys...the speculation engine is running overtime, here.
While it is true that Beryllium is harmful, when it's
amalgamated with copper, it is very hard to get dust out,
unless you use a sander.
It's essentially passivated in the form in which it's used.
If you opened the ends of the fiberglass tubes, sucked on 'em
and inhaled deeply, the odds are you'd be in greater danger of inhaled
dust from fiberglass or epoxy than from BeCu.
This is a non-problem. If it were otherwise, BeCu strip wouldn't be
available on the commercial market.
And, for the record, the 3 el SteppIR is the best little antenna I've
used in 45 years. Wish I had room to turn a 4 el.
