I have re-galvanized tower before. It certainly extends the life of the
tower. If you paint over the new galvanizing, it extends the life a great
deal.

As for the "fitting" issue, even new tower sections will sometimes be a
"tight" fit.

The best way to handle this is, in my opinion, simply lay out the sections
horizontally using some type of support, like saw horses, etc., and attempt to
connect them first. If a section does not fit well, use another one. A
previous section that does not fit well may be a perfect fit on a subsequent
section. Number or otherwise mark the sections that fit together well, and
erect in that order.

Good luck,

Ken
