Do not adjust the short section of the counterpoise, that adjusts 10
meters. If you must adjust the counterpoise for 40 meters, do it to
the long part. There will be a big difference in the tuning if the
antenna is mounted on the ground or 12 feet or higher in the air. On
the ground it is broadband and matches the paperwork nearly exact, in
my experience. That cap in the top of the antenna is a pain, but it's
the only adjustment for 80 meters and you will have to get one from
GAP. I have worked Europe on 80m, but only when the band peaked at
their sunrise.
