I think that any method used to work on antennas and towers can be very
dangerous if some common sense is not applied. Things can go wrong if you
are not careful, regardless of what you are doing. If you have an
appropriate pulley at the top of the tower, another at the base, have enough
people to watch what is going on while going very slowly with a vehicle,
there is certainly room for debate as to whether that is "safe" as compared
to two or three guys trying to hoist a 250 pound 40M yagi by pulling on a
rope. There is one thing I know for sure. There is a significant
difference in Nylon and Dacron rope and with the stretch in Nylon rope you
may be in a bind and not know it until it is too late.
