I am in the process of putting up a free standing 1/4 wave verticle for 80
mtrs. Plan also to use on 160 mtrs with decoupling ckt and T top loading,
for transmitting only, seperate recv antennas. Now to the question at hand: the tower is grounded and will be fed with a gamma match on each band. Band selection would be by simply switching the coax feed from one gamma match to the other, leaving the unused band's gamma floating, switching both ctr conductor and shield. Seems reasonable to me and simple. Simple seems to always mean something is overlooked. What is it? Oh yes, plenty of space for radials and plenty of available copper wire. Thanks, Sam, W5LU _________________________________________________________________ Frustrated with dial-up?
