Thanks to all that took time to pass on their opinions and experience.
I am one of those who plans something so much I sometimes fail to
get past the planning stage but hopefully this time will be different.
This weekend up goes the 80m loop up and then start working on a
160m inverted L project.
While I do have room for the 160 loop, it would use all the space and
get pretty close too one neighbors house. The 80 and the 160 L will
be far enough from all my neighbors. The only restriction on the property
behind me where the loop will go is that I can't put anything on the ground.
It has to remain clear for the owner to use for vehicle storage if
necessary.
It hasn't been used for that in the last five years but they need the option
and I am glad to get any use that I can.
This area is about 160' x 200' and has a fence and trees around three sides
and is
directly behind me and another 30' x 125' wooded area going away from me
to the south with two unused wooden poles. One is too short to be of value
but the other may be usefull and is close to the fence.
Last questions.....I wanted to run the vertical part of the 160m L up beside
my
40' tower then horizontal through the wooded area.
How far away from the tower leg sould I mount the vertical wire??
What kind of wire should I run through the wooded area??? Insulated??
I know I could use the wood pole for the vertical wire but I allready have
unused ports on a remote antenna switch at the tower base and good
grounds/radials.
Would like to use this area IF it will work.
