Jim's comment made me chuckle. Years ago (50s), the MIT club station (W11MX)
was in a Quonset hut on the westernmost end of the campus, separated from the
nearest "real" buildings by athletic fields. Contests were a bear, partly
because it was a quarter-mile each way to the bathrooms in the nearest dorm,
and partly because there was no heat in the building except that generated by
the 304TLs in the amplifier cage. (I suspect it gets a bit colder in Cambridge
than in Fullerton.) January CD Parties were especially tough.....
